Description
An opportunity to acquire a 'SPECTACULAR' boat designed by the great Nigel Irens, built with the finest quality, high tech boat materials; Carbon / Kevlar / Nomex Pre Preg Construction. The mast, boom and prodder/bowspirit is Monolithic Carbon Construction. The boat is ideal for racing, breaking records and world cruising. She is a true legend of the high seas, with an amazing history! First sailing vessel to break the 500 mile barrier in 24 hours, held the Jules Verne non-stop 'Round the World' record. She has won some great races, broken some great records and some great sailors have skippered this boat, including Tony Bullimore, Mike Birch of Canada, Tracy Edwards, Sir Peter Blake and Sir Robin Knox-Johnson. She also broke the Gomera Canary Islands to Port St Charles Barbados sailing record, the Montego Bay Jamaica to Lands End GB sailing record, won the Fastnet Race (multi-class), the Middle Sea Race Mediterranean, came second in the 2005 Oryx Quest non-stop round the world race, came fourth in 'The Race', a non-stop round the world event at the turn of the century to celebrate the Millenium, first in the Liberty Race from France to the USA, first in the two-handed transatlantic race from Plymouth to Newport, Rhode Island, USA and was the first sailing vessel to break the 500 mile barrier in 24 hours! The boat has also won many Regatta Races around the world and has become one of the great sailing yachts of all times.
